  A show which can go straight into the bin of despair and slavery.

  Note: This is my first review on AniList here.

  This is a show that at first seems like it shouldn't be a show based on the factors that its based off a manga. That and the fact that I got this on one of my anime forums as my lottery pick so that is a yay for that moment of getting this show. Also, there may be spoilers in this review so be warned on that area.

  STORY: 3
  Oh, how I can say this is in a nice way. It's like a basketball hoop with it being too many holes and the ball going around the hoop and not going into the net as it went to the opposing team. This is what I feel by this show as it confusing to know in where everyone is and doing at that particular time during the episode.

  The plot that it's trying to sell seems "interesting" and you do see a variety of games that are played throughout the 12 episode run so I will commend them for that. But a big negative is that it seems to be the only positive in a badly written show. This is for two reasons, the first one being the fact that it has kept changing who we are following in a certain scene. The jumps between these scenes are something that I can only cringe at.

  The second reason is their "plot twists" which can be easily seen from a mile away with the second half being all about seeing dominance over everyone that has an SCM and some stupid characters which easily fall into putting it on. Like how can you fall for that trap that is so easy to not fall in.

  ANIMATION: 4
  I don't have much to say as I am not really one for animation purposes. But the animation in this show is something that you don't really want to put your time in. Basically what I am saying here is the fact that the animation is nothing special at all compared to other shows that are in this season of shows.

  SOUND: 3
  I am a person who doesn't mind watching the full OP/ED as I know what is coming up. But compared to some of the other shows in this season, the OP song just felt flat compared to some of the others. The ED was a little bit better but was the same thing as I didn't really feel like it was a good way to end that episode. Maybe that could have been because I was relieved that the episode was over or something completely different like almost falling asleep.

  CHARACTER: 4
  Before you go and attempt to try and murder me let me explain on this area. Doing a quick little search on another anime listing site shows that there are 20 characters in the show. Now for some shows, this does works in their favour. Especially if it's a long series which is more than 12 episodes that the show runs for. For others, this format doesn't work. This is one of those shows which is of the former with the fact that there is really no characters which I could fill in the shoes. In fact, if you wanted to me to name my favourite character of the show I couldn't give one.

  This also didn't help the fact that they thought that introducing a character in almost every episode (barring the last one). This didn't help in tracking which characters were where at that time. By the time, the second half of the show started, I gave up on keeping track of characters and where they were and what they were doing. With a limited period, these characters don't get screen time to fully introduce themselves before falling victim to the SCM or being annoying as a cat on your lap.

  ENJOYMENT: 4
  Overall my experiences for this show was something that I want to forget very easy as I said earlier in this review, the show as a whole is something that could easily be forgettable and not many (if any) will be talking about this show in a years time or even six months time. That is how forgettable this show is to the audience that watched it.

  Do I recommend this show to the people that are reading this review? The simple answer to that is no. There are other shows that came out in this season that is worth your time more than this one.

  12 episodes of chaos (and a dog)

  the tags caught my eye, so that’s why i gave this show a shot. honestly, i was just curious if it was really that bad or if people were overreacting. before starting, i checked mal and anilist, and yep every single review was basically roasting it hard. no mercy at all. so i thought, why not write my first review and throw my own opinion into the mix? lmao.
  just so you know, i’m not some hardcore hater or a die hard fan defending it. i just don’t think it was that terrible. yeah, it’s got some big issues, and sometimes it felt like it could give you a headache, but honestly? i had some fun watching it.
  that being said, the problems are definitely there, and they’re big ones. so let’s dive in.

  pros

  action packed
  no matter how flawed it was, i have to admit it kept things moving. there was barely a dull moment, and something was always happening—whether it made sense or not is another discussion lol. if you're just looking for nonstop duels and chaotic energy, it kinda delivers on that.

  genre appeal
  if you're into gambling, dueling, or tournament style anime with a high stakes vibe, you’ll probably find this at least mildly entertaining. it’s not death parade or kakegurui level by any means, but it plays into some of those familiar tropes in a way that can be fun if you’re in the right mood.

  mystery hook
  the show did manage to keep a sense of curiosity alive. i kept thinking, “okay, what’s next?” even if it wasn’t always for the right reasons. sometimes it was intrigue, sometimes it was confusion, but either way—it held my attention more than i expected.

  cons

  introducing plot-critical characters every episode with no emotional depth
  this was hands down the biggest issue for me. why are you still adding important characters in episode 11 of a 12-episode anime?? it would've made more sense if we had seen some of them earlier—just a glimpse in a duel or background scene would’ve helped. some characters do serve legit plot twists, so i’ll give those a pass. but the rest?

  ensemble cast? not really
  i love me a good ensemble cast, but this ain’t it. the characters didn’t get equal screen time, and most had wildly uneven importance to the plot. some backstories felt thrown in just to fill time.
  for example, seiya and ayaka were introduced with actual effort early on, and i genuinely thought they were gonna be major players. but after episode 6? it’s like they got snapped out of existence.

  i’m just gonna leave this here and shut up…

  despite all the chaos, i think this anime isn’t the total trainwreck people make it out to be. it’s messy, rushed, and often makes bizarre narrative choices—but if you go in with low expectations and just want some wild, fast-paced action with a sprinkle of mystery, it’s kinda entertaining.
  would i recommend it? depends who’s asking. but i’ve seen worse shows with much higher scores, so hey, maybe give it a shot. at least it threw enough action at me to keep my lizard brain entertained.
